Which WAV?
There are two kinds of SoundCloud WAV download: the artist's original file and a WAV made from the stream. Answer these questions to get the best one for your track.

Question 2
Question 3
Record or download?
Some guides tell you to record SoundCloud to WAV with Audacity or a screen recorder. Here is how that compares with a direct WAV download.
| Detail | RecordingAudacity, OBS and similar | SCSaverDirect WAV download |
|---|---|---|
| Time for a 60-minute set | 60 minutes or more | Usually under a minute |
| Sound quality | Can lose quality through your sound card | A clean copy of the stream |
| Notifications and noise | Recorded too, if they play | Never |
| Start and end | Needs trimming by hand | Exact, nothing to trim |
| Title and cover art | Added by hand | Included |
Recording only makes sense when nothing else works. For any public track, downloading SoundCloud as WAV is faster and cleaner.

Guide
Yes, in two ways. If the artist turned on downloads and uploaded a WAV, you can download that original file from SoundCloud itself. For every other public track, a tool like SCSaver downloads SoundCloud music to WAV from the stream, which is what plays when you press play.
An original WAV is the artist's master file, so it holds every detail they exported. A WAV from the stream is an exact, uncompressed copy of what SoundCloud plays. Both load the same way in DJ software, but the original is the better file when you can get it.
Search SoundCloud for "free download" together with your genre, and check the descriptions of tracks from labels and producers you like. Many artists offer WAV downloads to grow their following, especially for edits, bootlegs and remixes.
The quality of a WAV depends on its source. A WAV from the stream keeps everything the stream has, with no further loss, but no converter can rebuild detail that was not streamed. Sites that promise "HD" or "320kbps" WAV are using marketing words: 320kbps is an MP3 setting.
If you already have a WAV and need something smaller for your phone, you don't need a separate converter. Paste the same SoundCloud link here and choose MP3 instead, which is free.
Download WAVs for personal practice, listening and editing. Before playing a track in public or using it in your own release, get permission from the artist. Most producers are happy to help when you ask.
Copy the track link, paste it at the top of this page and press Get WAV. WAV is already selected, so press download to save the file. If the artist offers a download button on SoundCloud, try that first.
Sometimes, from the artist: look for a Download button or a free download link in the description. On SCSaver, WAV is part of the Supporter pass from $3, while MP3 is free.
Each artist decides whether to allow downloads, and most turn them off. When downloads are off, SoundCloud only offers the stream.
No. It is an uncompressed copy of the SoundCloud stream. Only the artist's own download gives you their original master file.
Only as a last resort. Recording takes as long as the track, can pick up system sounds and needs trimming. Downloading as WAV is faster and cleaner.
About 10 MB per minute. A 4-minute song is around 40 MB, and an hour-long DJ set around 600 MB.
Playlists download as a ZIP of MP3 files. To get WAV, open the songs you need one by one on this page and save each one as WAV.
Yes, the page works in mobile browsers. WAV files are large, though, so most people download them on the computer they use for DJing or producing.
